All of the fish you catch with Lakeshore Adventures are gutted on the boat and packed in ice to ensure freshness. We can also fillet and bag the fish at the dock if time permits, and you can then ice them in a cooler. However, many of the people we take fishing are here on vacation and don’t have either the means or the desire to take care of the fish they catch fully.
Local Commercial Fish Market Services
With this in mind the perfect solution is Baileys Harbor Fish Company. They are a local commercial fishing operation that does it all! They sell a variety of fish and seafood and do an excellent job processing Trout and Salmon. You can have your fish filleted or steaked, vacuum packed and flash frozen that day. If you have a couple of days, they do an excellent job of smoking fish as well. As a service to you, the first mate on your charter will fill out the appropriate paperwork and drop the fish off to be processed for you. You can then pick up the beautiful fillets, steaks, etc. when you’re ready to leave town. You pay for their work at this time, and they will pack your cooler with ice and all your fish. We take about 85% of our customer’s fish to the market. This is a wonderful service that we highly recommend. The fish are packaged in portion-sized pieces and vacuum-sealed to stay fresh frozen for a full year. It is the best way to ensure your fish don’t go to waste. If you are fortunate enough to catch an extremely large fish and wish to put it up on the wall, Baileys Harbor Fish Company can freeze it whole in their walk-in freezer. Taxidermists and dry ice shipping can also be arranged.
