Trophy King Salmon, dynamite Steelhead, whopper Walleyes, monster Northerns, and exciting brown trout make fishing Baileys Harbor and surrounding Door County waters a truly unforgettable experience.
Here at Lakeshore Adventures, we have an exceptional lineup of captains and first mates. They include Todd Haleen, Krisztian Pallagi, Brent Edmundson and Garret Hall. Being able to rotate out the crew allows us to stay fresh and focused during a grueling season of early mornings, middays, and evening fishing trips. This dedicated team of experts puts in a combined 1000 hours of Salmon fishing in a single season.
All information obtained while fishing (hot lure colors, speed, location, etc.) is passed on to the fresh crew, giving you the best possible chances of having a successful trip. Our goal on each trip is to give those on board the absolute best fishing experience ever. The first mate and your captain will be there to assist you in any way possible. We welcome all ages and levels of experience, from the novice angler to the seasoned veteran. We will do everything in our power to ensure your trip will be a memorable one!
By mid-June, King Salmon begin to arrive in our Door County waters. A 20-pound King with it’s astounding power will be a handful for even the most experienced of fisherman. They typically take long hard drag squealing runs of 150 yards or more. At times all you can do is hang on. It's truly a thrilling experience.
When the ice thaws, the Lake Michigan fishing season starts. During the early season, we have our 37’ ProKat charter boat positioned on the Green Bay side of the peninsula. During the first month of the season we troll the warming shorelines in search of the thrilling German Brown Trout and piles of walleyes.
By mid-June, our 37' charter boat will be operating out of Baileys Harbor. As the lake begins to warm up, the cold surface water offers fantastic Steelhead fishing. Their trademark is a heart-stopping explosive attack immediately followed by them rocketing out of the water with aerial displays. With our 37’ ProKat charter boat we are able to run long distances out into Lake Michigan to find surface temp changes that hold these fantastic fighters. And with 600 HP on the back it doesn’t take us long to get there. Longer trips are often encouraged if we feel it will be necessary to go over 15 miles out to hit them hard!
Early spring (April-May) and late fall (September-October) are prime times for Walleye fishing. During these times our 37’ ProKat charter boat “Fat Kat” will be docked on the Green Bay side and rigged for trophy Walleye, German Brown Trout and Northern Pike. This is a great time to catch good numbers of eater fish and some real pigs!
Ice fishing on the Bay of Green Bay is truly exceptional. We have several heated ice shacks and all the tackle needed for a successful outing. Brown Trout, Northern Pike, Perch, Walleyes, White Fish and the exciting Burbot are all abundant. If you haven't ever ice fished before, you need to try it! Guided trips with grilled lunches are available.
